Thanks to forging a relationship with the local youth volunteer organization Youth Central, in early June Bankview welcomed a wonderful new public art installation. The community association recently acquired a larger scale piece of artwork, created by local artist Cory Nespor in June 2015, through our Bankview Gives Back program. The art piece consists of three large panels that when put together fashions one unified tryptic with the words: Create, Connect, and Empower.

The art itself, the Youth Central project, and our acquisition of the piece all support local art and fosters a sense of community — themes that are mirrored in Bankview’s participation in the City of Calgary This is My Neighbourhood program.

In early June, with the support of Youth Central and board member Michelle Kemball, the piece was installed on the tennis courts facing 23rd Avenue SW. Be sure to swing by and check out this fantastic new addition to our ever-growing collection of public art in Bankview.
