Embrace Gardening’ is a community gardens’ inspired and supported initiative intended to expand the understanding and appreciation of gardening in general through engagement with Calgary at large by using inner city community gardens as an educational opportunity.

Join neighbours to sare experiences and to discuss two topics:

1. The native perennial garden:
planning for location and sustainability into the future, what plants to consider for pollination, hosting beneficial insects, choices for hardiness and beauty and edibles.

2. Gardening and harvesting in August:
seed saving — techniques with demos
simple ways to preserve the garden’s bounty –pickling, drying, freezing, etc.
keeping the garden growing into the fall

6:30pm is a munch n’ mingle, 7-9pm let’s talk! August 14
Donations gratefully accepted.
