Planning & Development

The Development Committee is a group of volunteer residents who meet every three weeks to review and provide comments to The City of Calgary on applications for Land Use Re-designations, Development Permits, and Business Permits in Bankview. We look at elements like building mass, street interface, orientation of entrances and windows, shadowing, parking, impacts to adjacent properties, unit numbers, and how it will compliment the community context. On occasion we also meet or correspond with developers, City planners, and elected officials to get the best outcome for our community.

Bankview has a diverse built form that includes a range of residential dwellings from historical character homes, to modern infills, and medium density apartment buildings. It’s a community that welcomes people from all walks of life and that is something to be very proud of. We as a committee rely on residents to volunteer their time to help ensure that new development respects our neighbourhood context while adding something to it.

The Development Committee has an email address to make it easier to contact us! We are always looking for volunteers to help us. If you are interested in joining us, have questions or want to share something, please send us an email at We look forward to hearing from you!
