Bankview is holding a fundraising casino on Wednesday, February 10 and Thursday, the 11that Cowboys Casino on McCleod Trail. At our last casino we raised $77,000 for the community, which makes this a significant fundraising event for Bankview and one that ensures that we can offer the programs and events that we do.

Your contribution is appreciated and needed.

How Do Casinos Work?

All casinos in Alberta are run as fundraisers for non-profit groups who apply for the event. The casino is run by paid professionals, while the non-profit group supplies the volunteers who manage the chips and the money (under the guidance of the Casino Advisor who we hire). All the winnings of the Casino go into a pool and are split amongst all the groups that participate in each quarter.

What Will I Be Doing to Help?

There are positions for cashiers who cash out the customer’s winnings. There are positions for chip runners who take poker chips out to the gaming tables when their supplies run low. There are positions for managers who oversee all the transactions and there are positions for counters who count all the money at the end of the night. There are a total of 32 volunteer positions we need to fill over the course of the two day casino.

There are day and night shifts available and you need no previous experience as all training is provided when you arrive. It’s fun work and a great way to get to know more of your community neighbours! Parking is free and we will even buy your lunch or dinner during your shift !
