Last summer the Bankview Community Association, in partnership The City of Calgary’s Community & Neighbourhood Services, hosted a night of free live music at Buckmaster Park. The event promoted local musicians and allowed neighbours the opportunity to meet each other. We are thrilled that this year three acts will be performing in our community. Please join us on Friday, August 21, 2015 in Buckmaster Park. RSVP on Facebook here.

About Our Artists
MYA: Kirk and Cennth met at a jam session hosted by Sheri-D Wilson in 2008. They were both intrigued by the fusion of the penny whistle and the slide guitar. Later during an open mic at the now legendary Bar Named Sue, they added Kirk reciting poetry. The response was overwhelming. Their set will be family friendly.
The Popsicles: You’ve just entered a time machine set for 1950, the era of sock hops and soda pop! The Popsicles (Fossil Records) are a two piece summer side project featuring Jen Severtson and Anthony Kameka from local indie rock band Windigo. Their modest melodies will wrap you in a warm blanket, letting your mind sail away to dreamland.
Allison Lynch: Allison sings jazz, pop, R&B, folk and classical styles, and is currently recording an album of both originals and classic jazz standards, incorporating her violin, piano, guitar and ukulele chops.
